One of the rarest and most desirable production Ducatis is the 1975 Super Sport. Only 246 900s and 249 750s were produced and they were sold in only a few countries because they retained a right side gearshift, Conti exhaust, and open 40mm carburettors. This machine was the last unadulterated production racer and only a minimal concession was made for it to be street legal. Although including a headlight and minimal taillight there were no turn signals. Performance matched the looks and the 1975 Super Sport was arguably the leading sporting motorcycle of the era.

This Ducati 750 Super Sport from 1974 is a recent restoration. Now regarded as the most desirable of all production Ducati motorcycles the 1974 750 Super Sport  was the only round crankcase v-twin with desmodromic valve gear. This model was produced in limited numbers (only 401) by the racing department under the watchful supervision of the great engineer Fabio Taglioni to celebrate  the victory of the factory desmo 750s at Imola in 1972.  As this machine is more than thirty years old and many original parts were missing considerable effort was spent in finding all the correct components.

Many items were specific to the 750 Super Sport and not shared with other Ducatis. These included the front forks, brakes, carburettors, crankshaft, cylinder heads, and fibreglass bodywork.

Only the 1974 750 Super Sport had the Imola-style clear stripe instant fuel gauge in the fibreglass tank.

One of the all time classic motorcycles.

Another great Italian race replica from 1974 was the Laverda 750 SFC. With only 222 produced this year it was a more limited edition than even the Ducati 750 SS. The 750 SFC also had many components that were specific to this model.
